“I miss that OG electro shit,” LA-based producer Yultron admits yearningly to NEST HQ over email, prefacing the context of his latest single with a bit of nostalgia. “Make Electro Great Again” is an homage to the sounds emanating from the late 2000s, known to many who were there as the ‘Blog House Era’. It was a time when many of today’s producers were finding their footing in the dance music space, including Yultron, who explains, “Some of the songs that inspire me to this day are ’09 era deadmau5, Wolfgang Gartner, Skrillex, Feed me, Porter Robinson, and so on. A lot of kids that are starting to get into dance music now never had a chance to be exposed to that same vibe like I did, so this is my way of giving back and hopefully it inspires them as much as it does me.”
Yultron’s new single clearly pays its respects to the early sounds of deadmau5 while reinvigorating it for a modern audience. Check it out below and find more from Yultron on Soundcloud.
