French tandem The Blaze have a knack for incredible music paired with captivating videos. The first video I saw was “Virile,” their video accompaniment to a track from Bromance’s Homieland Vol 2 compilation. They describe it as “visceral and poetic” and I honestly can’t think of a better two words to describe the journey within. A bit crude but thoroughly beguiling, the UKMVA-winning video is an ode to friendship and love — true bromance.
The Blaze are finally back with a brand new video over a year later. It is just as visceral, just as adventurous. “Territory” is a track taken from their debut EP of the same name set for release on April 7th via Animal63 (Savoir Faire and Believe Recordings). The video was filmed in Algiers alongside French company Iconoclast and features the emotional story of a “multifaceted homecoming.” It explores themes of “belonging, masculinity, savagery, and tenderness channeled via powerful imagery, poignant melodies, and pulsating electronics.” It thoroughly expresses The Blaze’s intention and voice as artists with clear-cut symbolism and incredibly cinematography.
