Studio Ghibli fanatics around the world have just been blessed with two exclusive pieces to celebrate two of the studio’s iconic movies. Out later this month, Studio Ghibli has released two colorful jackets with embroidered designs on the back, known as sukajans, for the movies My Neighbor Totoro and Ponyo.
On the jacket honoring the 30th anniversary of My Neighbor Totoro, The Catbus (or Nekobasu) is celebrated with a number of high-quality patches across the arms, chest, and back of the jacket. To mark the 10th anniversary of Ponyo, its jacket features adorably embroidered versions of the movie’s characters and paints an oceanic scene just like the film’s setting. Each jacket includes a tagline from the movie, including the year of its release. These pieces will be available for purchase on August 23rd for $270 USD on Studio Ghibli’s website. Check out both sukajans below.
