San Holo remains one of the main forces pushing the bounds of electronic music. The Dutch DJ and singer-songwriter founded the independent label bitbird in 2013, which has released several projects from many of San’s contemporaries and collaborators including DROELOE, Taska Black, and Flaws. Bitbird will top off their stream of releases later this year with San’s debut album, building upon previous singles “worthy” and “lift me from the ground” featuring Sofie Winterson. With his latest headlining North American tour launching late October, San is also currently wrapping up his festival circuit with performances at Electronic Zoo NYC, Lollapalooza Berlin, and Austin City Limits.
Today, San returns with the third single from album1 titled “brighter days.” The track came together a few days after San and Bipolar Sunshine met at Coachella earlier this year. San opens with gentle plucks and a steady rhythm that pairs nicely with Bipolar’s fleeting vocals, quickly diving into an explosive chorus. The duo crafts a testament to the brighter days that follow even our lowest moments that leaves us excited to hear more collaborations from them in the near future.
Stream “brighter days” below and stay tuned for album1 later this year.
