Like many recent southern California crews, the Jacksons emerged from a convergence of spirits and event collaboration, including the occasional desert gathering. Over time, as their work became more formalized, they began expanding and recently decided to start their own label. Their first label party took place in San Diego about a month back and featured Trent Cantrelle as the headlining act, and now it’s been followed by the first release on Jackson Records.
Ronzel first featured on NHQ a few months ago for a piece we called Five Tracks That Just Made Me Believe In Soundcloud Again, with a track that was far more future bass and dubstep oriented. Here, he shows his breadth and reaches for something more contemplative and flow-driven, with a level of playfulness that gives credence to its name. “Hallucinations” is a solid opening statement for a young crew’s birth, and sets a tone for its future.
