Swedish pop queen Robyn has just announced the launch of RBN, a limited-edition capsule collection with fellow Swede brand Björn Borg due out Spring 2019, which you can catch a glimpse of above. Her sporty, tomboy style growing up was challenged as she became an adolescent pop star and as Robyn’s been getting back to herself during the multi-year hiatus she’s been on leading up to the release of her last album, Honey, she’s also getting back to her sporty, tomboy roots. She designed the activewear line with her friend, stylist Naomi Itkes, with the support of Björn Borg. Robyn raided her own closet as well as Björn Borg’s photo archives to find inspiration for what looks like is going to be an eclectic, thoughtfully practical capsule.
“There is this mix of decades—of the ’70s, and ’80s, and the ’90s—and there’s also this mix of locations, and the mix between music and sport,” Robyn told VOGUE about working on the collection with designer Anders Arnborger. “It was Anders’ idea to use the two circles, which for him were like the ball and the record. And he wanted to make an album . . . a real record, and so I came up with these song titles that were titled referencing the things that we had talked about.” Stay tuned for more info to come.
