Rico Tubbs is a name I haven’t heard in eons, but the Finnish producer has made his stamp on bass music permanent with over a decade of rinsed releases. For his latest, Rico has made a fidgety joint today where bass house meets breaks.
On “Chemistry,” the vocal loops belie the bassline’s undulating throb as it brings in a bit of a classic garage element. On the back half, Russia’s Phlegmatic Dogs bring it even harder and bassier, then Isenberg ratchets up the fidget on his take.
“Chemistry” and its two remixes are out on December 8 via Broken Syndicate Music.
