Niagara Falls isn’t the first place you’d think to find a new breed of dark, hypnotic techno, but producer and DJ, Isabelle Rezazadeh pka REZZ, locked herself in her home studio in Canada over the past year honing her production prowess and ultimately caught the ear of NEST for the release of her first official EP release, Insurrection, out today, July 20th.
Insurrection represents everything that REZZ is about. The three tracks on the EP showcase her propensity for dark, eerie atmospherics that pack a serious punch, blending elements of heavy techno with crunchy electro synth lines that immediately evoke parallels with Parisian innovator, Gesaffelstein. Inspired by “sketchy vibes” and “downtown alleyways,” all three of REZZ’s productions on Insurrection are fully dancefloor-ready while imposing a unique entrancement on their listeners.
For REZZ, Insurrection acts as a launchpad for an explosive year ahead. Following the release on NEST, the 20-year-old producer will be hitting the road this upcoming fall and winter, making massive festival debuts including TomorrowWorld, Holy Ship!, and more to be announced next month. As far as more music is concerned, REZZ excitingly and humbly says, “I can see exactly what my sound is evolving into and I can’t wait ‘til I get good enough to hear what’s in my head. Climbing one step at a time.”
