This Friday, Posij is revealing a special project that’s said to showcase some of his best work yet. We’ve been a fan of his for years — he’s graced our Artist Spotlight series over three years ago, and it’s kind of incredible to see how far he’s come since his career’s inception. His Cocoon EP is set to drop this Friday, May 17th via DIVISION, and we’ve got the exclusive first look at one of the EP’s most biting cuts in collaboration with Former.
“Half Monk” is a dangerous halftime production that sounds like it came from the deepest trenches of hell. Posij and Former flex their production chops through the assorted basses on this track, amplifying the apocalyptic vibe through next-level sound design. Along with offering us “Half Monk,” here’s what Posij had to say about the forthcoming EP:
“After being a bit silent on the release radar for quite a while, I wanted to come back and showcase my repertoire. Here are 10 beats that Noisia chose from my -way too big- demo folder. I ended up flipping every song around in the last three weeks while finishing them in a hyper-focused and inspired mindset. The songs on the EP are very diverse, but together, shine a light on all sides of me as a producer and I’m really proud of the result. This time, there is more to come very soon, I promise!”
In the meantime, listen to “Half Monk” in collaboration with Former below.
