Seattle hardcore rap group Nauticult have been making noise in their hometown for a few years at this point, coming through with a uniquely psychedelic blend of metal, hardcore, hip-hop, and punk that grabs you by the throat and forces you to pay attention. This newest single is their first preview at an upcoming EP that promises to be one of the hardest tapes to come out of the city this year. With rapid-fire, politically charged lyrics that mix contemporary themes of digital anguish and horror, Nauticult use a full band and DAW effects to provide a cacophony of sound rivaled only by the unrelenting screams of their lead singer. With grim, on the nose lyrics like, “Don’t put me in a box unless you plan to bury me in it,” the group’s doomed take on noise rap is not one to overlook. Check out their new single below.
