If you’re in need of a handful of brand new tunes for the dancefloor, Medium Rare Recordings has got you covered. The label is about to deliver a selection of tracks aptly titled Club Cuts, and each one deserves its rightful place in the club. This compilation’s roster includes cuts from VOLAC, rrotik, Double Agent, and Case of the Mondays.
It begins with VOLAC’s ultra-catchy “Drank,” a minimal yet heavy-hitting production that has quite the shock value. Next, MRR offers rrotik’s “Butter,” which the producer describes as a tune that hits on the deeper side: “It’s basically a patchwork of different facets of house like tech, UK, deep, and acid, and tried to keep it all cohesive and not too aggressive-sounding.” Double Agent gets down on “Talk 2 Me,” another deep, grinding roller of the house persuasion. “I’m stoked with how ‘Talk 2 Me’ came together,” Double Agent said. “It gets straight to the point; kicking off with a huge detuned saw before pulling right back into a medley of tight bassline sounds. It’s a no-nonsense club jam with a super catchy vocal to glue it all together.” Finally, Club Cuts 001 ends with “Games” from Case of the Mondays, a worthy closer to a hard-hitting compilation. “We wrote this track with two things in mind… Hot Summer Patios & Loud Sweaty Dance Floors,” they said. We couldn’t agree more.
