The biggest downside of a carefully-curated release plan and artist strategy is that it ends up leaving a lot of great material on the cutting room floor. In recent years, Louis the Child has been a great example of this, having built up a massive following while only releasing a handful of singles.

That’s probably what spurred the release of the Candy mixtape, which includes a bunch of those songs and beats that didn’t make the cut for their tight string of releases. It’s a great way to reflect on what’s been a big year for this iconic duo.
