NEST HQ is headed to the East Coast for our first ever New York Fashion Week, and we’re sharing our packed aspirational schedule for any of you who want to explore with us. From The Secret Society of Ex-Mermaids to the OWSLA Goods Deli pop-up to Goodwill’s fashion-blogger curated shopping experience celebrating the rejection of fast-fashion, we’ve combed the internet for the most fascinating happenings open to the public this week — dive right in!

Thursday, Feb. 8

M12 x New York Fashion Week at Cipriani

New York, NY 10017
9 p.m. UNDERGROUND— Dertbag / H33M / Chicago Playground / Shay Kawaii

Shows will be happening from 2 p.m. on at Cipriani’s 42nd St. venue, but at 9 p.m. the UNDERGROUND comes above to the runway with shows from East Coast streetwear brands Dertbag and H33M, Chicago Playground, and a women’s high-fashion arthouse-streetwear brand by Shay Kawaii. AKINGSNY and Khoman Room will actually be displaying their Fall/Winter 2019 collection while patrons enjoy complimentary products from Matchabar, Fanola, Essentia Water, Nicole Rutsch Catering and Styling, and an open bar!

Friday, Feb. 9

OWSLA Goods will be hosting a very special activation open Friday and inspired by the city’s proclivity for classic New York delis and bodegas. With the help of local NY artists Bryan Rivera (@100br) and Javier Matias (@midcitysigns), some exclusive pieces were created just for this pop-up experience — come see for yourself.

MIDORI LINEA’s Magical Galaxy

A multimedia affair from the mind of jewelry designer Sakura of MIDORI LINEA, this party will feature music, a beauty bar, and live painting. Tickets are still available but likely to sell out soon!

Saturday, Feb. 10

Bright and early Saturday morning, Maybelline New York makeup artists will be at Samsung 837 armed and ready with a grip of complimentary products on a mission to make you over if you so desire. Get there early (this will last as long as supplies do) and RSVP here!

Koio Nolita
199 Lafayette Street

2 p.m. – 6 p.m.

This retro-casual leather sneaker brand is extending an open invite to stop by its Nolita location to browse new styles where you’ll enjoy music and free cocktails (emphasized “free cocktails”). Koio Nolita is also offering free monogramming with any sneaker purchase during NYFW!

Ex Mermaid

The Secret Society of Ex-Mermaid is coming above ground to celebrate NYFW and the SS 18 collection, which the Society describes as follows: “This season considers the decadence of the internet which converts our world into pixels, equalizing the greatest achievements of art and film in the blink of a meme, elevating the antics of kittens, and hollowing out Proust, all to become a common, flat horizon of consumable content, to be feasted upon by a new species.” RSVP here!

Goodwill Extended

Goodwill is celebrating the rejection of fast fashion and keeping reusable clothes out of landfills with a night dedicated to exclusive shopping for highly-curated used items. DJ SRRMN will be on beat-duty and you must bring in a bag of clothing to donate for entry!

Sunday, Feb. 11

Society Fashion Week
45 East 45th Street
New York, NY 10017
10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

This pricier show is part of a multimedia runway show tour and pop-up activation showcasing designers that run the gamut from high-fashion couture to pop-art inspired streetwear. Activities will be going on all day — mingle with designers, buyers, and fans. Tickets are here.

Art Hearts Fashion NYFW
5 p.m. Anthony Rubio

If you’re in the mood to indulge in some eccentric high fashion, look no further than Anthony Rubio’s runway show at Art Hearts Fashion, a platform with a ton of events going on throughout the week showcasing dozens of designers, but only one that for sure will feature a different dog with each modeled look. Yes, you absolutely read that last sentence correctly: Anthony specializes in both dogs’ and women’s fashion, and tickets are still available here.

Wednesday, Feb. 14

Videmus Omnia

3 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Expect the unexpected at the launch of Chinese American Designer Yun Qu’s brand new label, which is reported to feature colorful, avant-garde styles. You can get into this show with an RSVP and celebrate Valentine’s Day with a show bright enough to make you smile regardless of your relationship status.

Street Fashion Week

With the express mission to “reinvigorate the conversation about emerging designer talent in a field commonly known as ‘urban’ or ‘street’ fashion by industry insiders and newcomers alike,” Street Fashion Week ends NYFW not only with all the new SS 18 looks, but paying homage to streetwear pioneers. Jay Martin Alexander of FUBU will be honored in celebration of his legacy and their recent collaboration with PUMA — get tickets here.
