Levi’s and longtime friend/creative inspiration Spike Lee have teamed up to collaborate on a collection of revised trucker jackets, featuring patches that pay homage to Lee’s hometown of Brooklyn and his film career. Co-designed by Lee, the black and blue denim jackets have a semi-distressed wash and a soft, built-in cloth hood with stitched detail. The “YA DIG” and “SHO NUFF” patches are references to the phrases that appear at the end of his movies when the credits roll, and the X is a nod to his 1992 film Malcom X. One of the other patches is made by Brooklyn-based legacy brand Defend Brooklyn and last is a stylistically re-vamped logo of 40 Acres, his production company.
These go on sale later today via the 40 Acres website for $190 and will also be available at the Levi’s SoHo NYC Outpost. Additionally, his new movie BlacKkKlansman is out tomorrow — watch the insane trailer below.
