Whenever I see a new release from Jon Casey, I just know it’s going to be something I’ve never heard before. Jon’s sound design is undoubtedly out of this world, and he continues to flex his production chops with each treat he uploads to his SoundCloud page. We last praised his collaboration with Jestic titled “Slick” last year, and he’s since put out a slew of wonky, mind-bending tracks. This week’s treat, however, showcases some of the best sound design I’ve heard from Jon Casey… ever.
“Sticky” is aptly titled simply because it actually describes the state of the basses in this track — Jon swallows us whole and spits us back out through borderline disgusting plucks and basses, creating order out of chaos with near-perfect finesse. This one’s absolutely going in my weird bass playlist — listen below.
