To commemorate his full-length record The Cure To Loneliness, Jai Wolf set out on a massive tour across North America with support from artists like Midoca, Giraffage, Hotel Garuda, and more. The final stop of the tour took the package to Los Angeles for two nights at The Shrine — seeing the room filled from front to back with bubbling energy was enough to fuel my excitement for this show. Openers for the final night included AObeats, Evan Giia, and Shallou before Jai Wolf’s immersive performance. Coupled with top-notch production, Jai Wolf delivered an outstanding performance that even included live vocalists as special guests throughout his set. I caught up with him to ask what it’s been like to create this experience for his audience:
“What a wild ride it’s been. We’ve been planning the album for two years, writing it for two years, planning the tour for the past two years, it’s been a very extensive process. Very laborious, but it’s a labor of love. At the end of the day, we have a fantastic crew who put their heart and soul, their blood and sweat and tears as much as I did to make this come to life and wanted to do something that was unique and different and I’m glad that we have a really good crew that was down. Sometimes it’s hard to find people who fuck with the vision, you know? I’m glad to have a really awesome team because it’s been a blessing to do what I’ve always wanted to do. It feels good to be here.”
