While Chris Lake became somewhat synonymous with Big Room stuff in recent years, it was always known that his roots ran deep in classic House music. After leaning into the mainstream with hands-up hits like “Boneless” and “Helium“, the Rising Music boss has decided to do away with big features and anthemic chords and focus on the good ol’ stripped back elements with his beastly new single “Chest”.
“Chest” is best described by what it isn’t. It’s not a frilly banger. It’s not an esoteric deep cut. There’s no sing-a-long happening here. Rather, Chris Lake has simplified his production to let all of the necessary elements shine, and make no mistake, “Chest” has proven itself already for peak club play (just ask Armand Van Helden, Disclosure, MK, or any other top dogs currently rinsing it out).
Looking forward to more stuff like this from Chris. Listen below and pick it up today on Ultra Records.
