This is our story...

There was a very special vibe at the 2018 incarnation of Tyler, the Creator’s annual Camp Flog Gnaw carnival and festival, despite the outdoor setting at Dodger Stadium being blanketed with smoke from the nearby Woosley Fire. We saw the first-ever public performance of Kanye West and Kid Cudi’s Kids See Ghosts project, as well as monstrous sets from Tyler himself, Jaden Smith, Lauryn Hill, Post Malone, SZA, A$AP Rocky, Pusha T, BROCKHAMPTON, Tierra Whack, Billie Eilish, Flatbush Zombies, Majid Jordan, The Internet, Rex Orange County, and many more. You can watch Tyler’s entire set taken from the Flog Gnaw livestream here, which features a phenomenal stage show and cameos from Pusha T, Majid Jordan, A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, and Rex Orange County, all on top of his maniacally ferocious performing style.

There was an extra dimension of production on this festival, particularly with some of the bigger acts’ stage show, that made it feel like a place as much as a party. Like Coachella, which has become known for being the American festival where artists go above and beyond with their stage show and often debut new material with much ado, the whole Camp Flog Gnaw experience is an immersion into Tyler’s brand, imagination, and the world of Odd Future, which felt appropriate against the background of apocalyptic smoke covering the stadium and many folks wearing breathing masks. “I think it’s beautiful that I created something where all you weird motherfuckers can come and be safe,” Tyler said during his electric performance to a crowd teeming with joy.

We expect the truly remarkable, livestreamed Kids See Ghosts performance pictured in the main photo above will be released on YouTube sometime this week.
