Alex Ridha, the production maestro better known as Boys Noize, has debuted a new alias, ELAX, which appears to be dedicated to house music. His first ELAX track, “Reaktor,” released today on Solomun‘s Diynamic label.
Like most of Ridha’s production, “Reaktor” is minimalistic and propulsive, but unlike most of his Boys Noize material, the song leads to an anthemic, sweet conclusion devoid of any techno crunch. In some ways it sounds unmistakably like Boys Noize, but I doubt you’d recognize it if you didn’t know it was him. “Reaktor” released as part of Diynamic‘s ongoing Four on the Floor EP series.
Solomun’s imprint has been on a roll lately after celebrating its 100th release with a Grand Theft Auto collaboration, including a music video set within the game. In other Solomun-related news, he’s also released a remix of Leonard Cohen’s “You Want It Darker,” the haunting title track from Cohen’s final album. Check that out too below.
