TREKKIE TRAX co-founder Seimei recently wrote via Twitter, “Bit too early to say this but EGL [pronounced “Eagle”] could be next Masayoshi Iimori.” The 19-year-old producer is another Tokyo based act representing a new wave of left field bass music, and his approach to making memorable setlist staples is uniquely clean cut and heavy. Over the last year he’s covered Baauer-style trap (“Babe” with fellow Tokyo artist DJ moe, and “Want”), psycho moombahton (“Fill You Up”), bouncy club-meets-techno (a remix of Adan’s “Hass”), and mainstage hype (a remix of M.I.A’s “Boys” with DJ moe). Over the last year EGL has given us a lot to get stoked about. We expect big things from the rising producer in the near future. Check our NEST HQ Artist spotlight on EGL below.
