Here at NEST HQ, cooking and food preparation is a part of our daily office life. Whether it’s the snacks we keep on-deck or the creative breakfasts and lunches many of us prepare from scratch, meal time is highly revered. Our love of food also coincides with the artists we love and share, as most of them are small-time chefs themselves. NHQ’s latest effort to showcase artistry in its many forms is by way of an artist-driven virtual cookbook. With this project, we aim to shed light on some of our favorite musicians and what they love to cook when hitting the kitchen. We’ve also asked them to include musical pairings — what they like to listen to while cooking and eating, and with what songs their selected recipes are best complemented.
Kenny Beats from LOUDPVCK offered up his favorite honey sriracha wing recipe for this week’s installation. Beyond his work as one half of LA-based electronic duo LOUDPVCK, Kenny is a master beatmaker. He’s got an ear for the shit that hits hard, including these wings he’s prepared for us. “This is the perfect ‘post studio’ meal!” Kenny writes. “After a long day of EDM, no one wants a recipe that takes a ton of steps or causes too many dishes; and that makes these wings the go-to for us. We got bored of traditional buffalo chicken a while ago, so these sweet/spicy thai type flavor is a great stand in. I actually learned this recipe from a friend while we were working on our new song ‘Gone,’ so now every time I make them I hear it in my head hahaha.. And much like our new single, when your friends try these wings they will be ‘GONE’ quick ; ) !
“This is a SUPER easy dish to put together, which means there is plenty of time to put on that album everybody keeps saying you should have listened to already. For today, the album Farewell, Starlite by Francis and The Lights fits the bill. By the time ‘I Want You to Shake’ came on I was literally milly rocking through the whole kitchen.”

“Once all the cooking is done its time to enjoy our hard work. We chose the sensual sounds of the Migos to round out the night. Highly recommend you take the album “No Label 2” and their latest masterpiece “Culture” and put all the songs on shuffle. The combination of the Migos contemporary trap stylings paired with a beautiful home cooked meal in front of you is honestly hard to beat!”
