Barcelona-based producer/DJ Nehuen is a name you should be familiar with. He has been cultivating his signature sound for the past several years, resulting in a combination of techno, experimental, electro, house, and acidic elements. With quite the penchant for analog jams and machine-driven rhythms, he takes classic mechanics and techniques and mixes them with his own futuristic touch. The bulk of Nehuen’s releases have found a home at his own Classicworks label which he co-runs with fellow Barcelonian producer Cardopusher.
His first release on BNR’s TRAX imprint is his Thoughtforms EP, a three track eclectic listening experience painted with metallic-textures, rigid basslines, and abstract instrumentations. An undeniably danceable and club-wrecking EP, this one gives us a look into techno’s irrefutably bright and bold future. Each intricate detail of Thoughtforms is incredibly well thought out and perfectly placed within the boundaries of a booming bass and pulsating percussion.
Today we’re premiering the third track from the EP titled “One Sided Coin”. At a heavy 127 bpm, Nehuen starts the track off with vibrating reverberations and an echoing bass, progressively venturing into a labyrinth of increasingly more perplexing synthesized sounds. This one boasts an incredible amount of musical depth and percussive genius as each layer fluctuates, multiplies, and contorts in intensity.
