Nottingham-based producer Lone dropped his punchy, experimental party record Ambivert Tools Volume One last year, a cacophony of alluring hip-hop nods and ambient sounds. His latest release “Mind’s Eye Melody” off his forthcoming release Ambivert Tools Volume Two proves Pitchfork‘s own claim about Lone, which is that he’s a rave kid at heart, but also showcases a more subtle side of his production chops characterized by heady, melodic sonic elements.
