This is our story...

The debut OWSLA release from Josh Gard — better known as acclaimed touring DJ and producer, Figure — jumps right into the sub frequency deep end with “Beast Mode”. “We’re gonna wile out ‘til the speakers blow,” leads cult hip-hop icon Del the Funky Homosapien before we’re hit with a signature rush of Gard’s bass artillery. “Eagle”, featuring Mr Lif, is a head-banging club stomper with a vintage vocal sample similar to those found in Gard’s ongoing Moster series — “This time, you will die!”, precedes a massive lazer-ridden breakdown. “Super Sonic Brain Waves” is a switch-up between old-school triumphant synth progression and brutal low-end variations. In “War Call”, Del returns as atmospheric native american tribal noise leads into an extra grimey onslaught of bass textures. The EP’s closer, “Astro”, features fellow OWSLA signee, Nick Thayer on a spacey, dub-injected funk anthem from the future.
