This is our story...

There’s a dash of dancehall in this jungle-tastic drum ‘n bass heater from the dub-infected minds of Dirtyphonics and Bassnectar. “Watch Out” features vibey vocals from Ragga Twins and a borderline happy-hardcore sound design flying at what feels like warped speed through a classic DNB progression. Says Lorin Ashton aka Bassnectar, “I was playing a show in Paris and hung out in the studio with the Dirtyphonics guys, we had this insane loop going and every time the downbeat synth hit everyone made the same facial expression which was kind of like a ‘GRRRRRR’ grimace, but also like a really weird sense of pleasure at the same time and someone kept saying ‘mayhem mayhem mayhem’ – then it took us like 89 years to finish cuz we kept making different versions, passing back and forth between half a dozen humans – glad to see it finally alive and able to fly free into the world – fly free, song! Watch out! Also, I’ve been a fan of The Ragga Twins for eons, and it was a great honor to get a dubplate from them, and it all fit perfectly over this beat – viva collaboration!”

It’s out today via Monstercat, and don’t miss the Bassnectar collab “Interlock” he released with ATLiens on OWSLA earlier this month.
