This is our story...

The “fun and experimental” label known as DESKPOP has released their first USB-housed compilation album. “OWN A PIECE OF INTERNET MUSIC HISTORY FOR $10,” reads the description on SoundCloud. History indeed, as each of the 18 tracks is by a new artist at the start of their career in the music community.

Like their self-proclaimed MO states, the entire label is playful and avant-garde in their pursuance of experimental artists and the overal sonic direction they’re going for. The DESKTAPE, as they’re calling it, includes sounds likened to intergalactic muzak, 8-bit skweee, and futuristic Lemon Jelly. Some are pleasantly basic and others are intricately complex, but the entire compilation plays rather cohesively.
