Big Boi is back and on fire with a track off his forthcoming Boomiverse solo album, “Mic Jack” featuring Maroon 5’s Adam Levine. Produced by DJ Dahi and DJ Khalil, Big Boi premiered the song on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show earlier this week and it’s a beefy, juicy, slow-burn track that is so distinctly Big Boi it’s like no time has passed since the iconic release of Outkast’s 2003 Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. There’s a flair to the production value that’s borderline Daft Punk-esque, so suffice to say we’re full-on addicted to this one.
He also shared “Kill Jill,” featuring Killer Mike and Jeezy, no word on when the full album will be out but it seems like we’ll have it fairly soon. Big Boi is quite the streaming platform diplomat giving “Mic Jack” to Spotify and “Kill Jill” to Apple Music. Apple’s embed isn’t working though and they’re doing a terrific job of keeping the song off Youtube, so you’ll have to work that one out for yourself.
